Rigging and Transportation of Transformers
1. Definition of Technical Specification
2. Analysis of the Technical Specification and Development of the Transportation Scheme
At this stage, we:
- Examine existing transport infrastructure and access roads at the loading and unloading sites; select the optimal route and method(s) of transportation (railway or specialized transport);
- Determine the rigging method for the transformer during loading and unloading onto the transport platform;
- Develop procedures for rigging operations: typically, large oil-filled transformers undergo partial disassembly, oil draining into separate containers, and tank sealing prior to rigging;
- Identify additional requirements for transport vehicles, oil-draining containers, packaging for high-voltage bushings, and other necessary equipment;
- Establish the schedule for transportation works, taking into account the specific technical and operational requirements.
3. Preparation of Transportation Cost Estimate
Develop a detailed cost estimate for the transformer transportation and submit it for the Customer’s review and approval.
4. Execution of Service Agreement
Conclude a formal contract with the Customer outlining the scope of work, responsibilities, schedule, and terms and conditions for the transportation services.
5. Execution of Transportation Works
Perform all transportation-related activities in accordance with the terms of the contract, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, technical specifications, and agreed schedules.
